We would like to THANK ALL Holy Cross Catholic Academy middle school and high school coaches!
We give a BIG congratulations to Coach Johnson and Coach Sabala on another successful track season. They have coached a Holy Cross student athlete to the TAPPS Track & Field State Championship at Baylor University
Hart-Patterson Track Complex for 6 straight seasons. With our practice facilities, we feel that in it self is an accomplishment.
This year the State Championships are on May 7th & 8th. Our 3 State qualifiers:
Chester Kos, freshman — 300 meter hurdles. Chester now has the opportunity to make 4 state appearances. He just missed qualifying in the 100 meter hurdles.
Gabe Seidlitz, senior — 100 meter and 200 meter. Gabe is a 2 time state qualifier. A great accomplishment, qualifying one time is hard enough. Gabe took first on both races, looking forward to his events.
Marissa Fierro, senior — Discus. Marissa was told back in September her athletic career at Holy Cross was probably over. She suffered a completely torn ACL, partial tear of the MCL with severe bone bruising on her left knee on September 9, 2009, maybe surgery. Not only did she rehab, she qualified for state golf for the 3rd straight year. She did great the 1st 18 holes, but as parents, we noticed a little struggle and hurting the next day on the 2nd 18 holes. Speaking with other school parents, Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco is one tough course with 2 good knees!
Congratulations and good luck to our three athletes in Waco this week end!
