Dear HCCA Families,
December is already too busy and Theater Arts will be having their performance this Wednesday. Therefore, we are cancelling the PTO meeting for December and will instead do basics via the internet. Below is an update of PTO information
PTO Update December
Faculty appreciation dinner will be Friday, Dec. 18th. Stephanie Frausto has arranged for a caterer and amounts for staff gifts were decided.
Student gift bags were planned and will contain one small gift and then some food goodies.
Mustang Round up is booked at St. Mary's for Sept. 25th with Young Country, and the Big Texan and a new menu will be chosen. Other details will be decided in the spring.
Fair Café was discussed thoroughly and decided not to continue it next year. Equipment will be inventoried and the possibility of selling any of it will be looked into. There was left over Café food supplies and we are selling them at 75% of our cost (See list below). So far, we have sold some items to the Booster Club and several parents.
A Fund Raising Committee was formed and Tammie Raef, Sarah deGrood, and Velia Palacio and Susan Nolan volunteered to be on it.
Faculty/ Staff Wish List requests had $5,304 in funds approved to be distributed as follows: $1,000-new chairs for computer lab, $250-4 DVD players, $650-graphing calculators, $1,400-sound equipment for Theater Arts, $350-electronic letter folding machine and postal scale, $154-Senior Class information bulletin board, and $1,500-Science department needs. Further requests will be considered in December.
December Business
Minutes will be presented at the January meeting for approval.
Current treasury balance is $14,218.87
We have had some additional requests from faculty and staff.
1. Mrs. Leija requests assistance to offset the cost of having the new HCCA emblem put on our diploma covers. Herf-Jones estimate $250 to $300 for making the mold that will be used.
2. Mrs. Meza (Spanish) requests a copy of Destinos a Spanish TV series for the cost of $79.95, Smart Talk Espanol Station an electronic tool for teaching vocabulary at $80.99 and a set of Vox Spanish and English Student Dictionaries that are used @$3.97 each (15 total $59.55 or 20 for $79.40) This comes to a total costs of $220.49-$240.34.
3. Mr. Garner requests money for art supplies. Suggested amount is $250.

FAIR CAFÉ FOOD FOR SALE
Leftover food from the Café is available for purchase at 75% of our cost. Frozen items are at the school and the canned goods are stored at my home. Please contact Mrs. Fierro, at the school office, ahead of time to arrange for the food to be there and a pick up time if you are interested in purchasing anything.
